Anthony Orville Knipp Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anthony Orville Knipp of Des Moines, Iowa, born in Gilbertville, Iowa, who passed away on January 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Virginia; his wife Betty; his parents, Lawrence Knipp and Kathleen Knipp; and his parents-in-law, Stanley Knipp (Diane), Gregory Knipp (Natalie), Rita Davis (Knipp), Ramona Knipp, Shirley Dew (Ron), Thomas Knipp, Larry Chipp, Phillip Knipp, Phyllis Swank (Glenn) and Pauline Knipp.
He is survived by: his sisters, Marie Estes (Larry), Elizabeth Chipp and Louann Ireland (Greg); his siblings-in-law, Don Davis and Linda Knipp; and his stepchildren, Jean Srour, Rebecca Pfannenstiel and Stephen Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and dozens of cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Iles Westover Funeral Home (6337 Hickman Rd, Des Moines, IA 50322). A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, IA 50003).
