We bid farewell to Richard Hicks of Denver, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 20, 2025 at the age of 88. Richard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Hicks and Byrdie Hicks (Byers); and his brother Stanley Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Johnston; his children, Brenda Heidemann (Keith) of Denver, Nancy Smolley (Craig) of Wyoming, MN, Tom Hicks (Tammy) of Denver and Kari Matthias (Brent) of Indianola; his grandchildren, Shane Heidemann (Jessie), Jason Heidemann, Jeremy Heidemann (Bethany), Stacey Larsen, Erica Siemback (Bryce), Danielle Hicks, Joseph Hicks, Reece Harrenstein, Brenden Matthias, Kali Matthias, Kira Matthias and Keela Matthias; his sister Harriett Norem of Iowa Falls; and his sister-in-law Lee Hicks of Port St. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Saint Paul United Church of Christ (300 Washington St, Denver, IA 50622). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
