Mary Meihost Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Meihost of Denver, Iowa, who passed away on July 14, 2020 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Meihost to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jacobs and Johanna Jacobs (Hoffman); her husband Paul Meihost; and her siblings, Helen Chambers (Dean), JoAnn Meihost (Raymond), John Jacobs (Bev), Leo Jacobs, Linus Jacobs (Marilyn), Francis Jacobs (Josie) and Melvin.
She is survived by: her children, Duane Meihost of Frederika, Gayle Gentz (Dennis) of Waterloo, Sandra Taylor (Randy) of Ionia, Don Meihost of Waverly and Julie Root (Bill) of Tripoli, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jason Meihost (Kala), Jonathan Meihost (Kylee), Benjamin Gentz (Susan), Bryan Gentz, Austin Gentz, Allison Slabaugh (Josh), Nathan Gentz, Stephen Gentz (Susanna), Carolyn Gentz, Kathryn Gentz, Jonathan Gentz, Dana Meihost (Sheree), Alex Taylor (Katie), Tyler Root and Kelsey Root (Quyntin Brandt); and her sister Rita Rasing (Leo) of New Hampton. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions there will be a private Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly with Father Doug Wathier officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Mary's Catholic Church, or to the Larrabee Center, 114 10th St. SW in Waverly.
