She was predeceased by : her parents, William Hesse and Hilda Hesse (Platte); her husband Orville V. Steege of John's Lutheran Church; and her siblings, Lavern Hesse and Lylda Bond.

She is survived by : her children, Deborah Collett (Mark) of Jesup, Sharon Knudsen (James) of Ames, Iowa and Neil Steege (Nancy) of Newhall, Iowa; her sister Carol Brandt of Sioux City, Iowa.; her grandchildren, Jeffery Steege (Ann) of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Collett of Cedar Rapids, Alicia Collett of Cedar Rapids, Sarah Steege, Jennifer Hornback (Wayne) of Marion and Hannah Knudsen of Stewartville, MN; and her great grandchildren, Peighton, Carter Ritz, Graham, Gwendolyn Steege, DeMarcus and BriElla Collett.
