He is survived by: his mother Loretta Smith (Walker); his wife Sharon Kennon; his children, Brandon Smith (Megan) of Denver, Danielle Bergmeier (Steven) of Dunkerton and Elizabeth Steege (Joel) of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Gavin Steege, Keegan Steege, Hughe Steege, Asher Steege, Rowen Smith, Sutton Smith and Isaiah Bergmeier; his sisters, Lori Suckow (Rick) of Oelwein, Robin Rosenstiel (Bill) of Mankato and Linda Davis (Larry) of Hudson; and his sister-in-law Mary Jo Hagarty of Oelwein.
