He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Lary; and his son Adam Lary. He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Lary (Aaron Nielsen) of Omaha, Nebraska; and his grandchildren, Hannah Nielsen of Omaha and Chase. He is also survived by other family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Huebner Funeral Home (1437 Broadway, Denison, IA 51442). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

“I'm so sorry to learn of Ron's passing. I'm also very sorry I can't make it to his service. I'd love to be there to share the stories of our time together at Arion School. We pretty much ran the place and kept the teachers on their toes! He was one of the kindest guys and the most fun ever. I hope I get to meet you down the road some day and share my stories.
