He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Victor and Gertrude Milburn Brodersen; his mother-in-law Irene; and his siblings, Ken, Dutch, Barbara Lingle (Bob), Rosanne Alcola Denver (Bill), Gretchen Hamlett and Mary Bohnker (Norm).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Swanson; his children, Mark of Ankeny, Brett (Beth) of Lincoln, Ryan (Amy) of Harlan, Brock (Dawn) of Ankeny, Jonah of Lincoln, Anna Rice (Cody) of Ankeny and Meghan Brodersen of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Victoria, Britta, Erica (Mark), Katherine (Brett), Sarah, Erik (Ryan), Thomas, Elizabeth (Brock), Gretchen, Clark, Lorelei, Thora (Jonah), Mauren and Emrik (Anna); his great grandchildren, Valeriana (Erica) and Harper (Nick); his stepgranddaughter Devin (Brett); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Reis of Denison, Patricia Getty of Alphretta, Corrine Bogart (Rick) of Omaha, Jerry Swanson (Carol) of Denison and Gail Swanson (Dianne) of Davenport. He is also survived by 49 nieces and nephews.
