It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merlin Fredrick Herrig (Denison, Iowa), who passed away on May 6, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Herrig and Florence Herrig (Tellgren); his wife Joan Herrig; his siblings, Earl "Joe" Herrig, Maydell Brandt, Myrna Voege, Delbert "Louie" Herrig and Darrell Herrig; and his son-in-law Allen Namanny.
He is survived by: his children, Becky Rogers (Hobert) of Denison, Heidi Herrig of Denison, Holly Namanny (Victor Arredondo) of Denison, Larry Herrig (Michelle) of Denison, Gary Herrig (Shelly) of Denison and Jodie Vazquez (Alejandro) of Denison; his stepdaughter Deb Reis Pieper (Larry) of Carroll; his grandchildren, Brent, Brandon, Bryan, Derek, Brooke, Ashlyn, Lauren, Tessa, Tori, Taya, Austin, Samantha, Lexi and Melody; and his sister Ruth Brink of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
