Janice Carlyle Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Carlyle (Denison, Iowa), who passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janice Carlyle to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard James and Mildred James (Strait); her husband Thomas Carlyle; her daughter Karen Lynn Carlyle; her grandson Levi Greene; her great grandchild Corbin Gettino; her siblings, Duane, Gerald, Robert James and Beverly Simmons (James); her uncle Joe; her aunt Viola James; and her niece Lisa Johnson (Jensen).

She is survived by: her children, David Carlyle (Cathy) of Ames, Cindy Gettino (Nick) of Palm Harbor, Barb Greene-Miller of Palm Springs, Alan Carlyle (Angie) of Denison and Eric Carlyle (Julie) of Monroe, Georgia.; and her grandchildren, Laura Bowshier (Brian), Jamie Williams (John Michael), Nicholas Gettino (Ashley), Tara Allen, Eric Gettino (Nella Björnsdotter), Patrick Gettino, Mark Gettino, Cari Greene (Craig Higgins), Marti Greene, Codi Greene-Bess (McKade Bess), Tucker Greene (Laura Fillman), Mitch Carlyle (Becky), Caitlin Carlyle (Matt Newton), Ethan Carlyle and Noah Carlyle. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren, and other nieces and nephews.

For the American Cancer Society, she served as a driver for patients who needed transportation to and from cancer treatments, and for the Red Cross she was treasurer for the local fundraising drive for multiple years.
