He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Wellendorf and Ruby Wellendorf (Winey); his parents-in-law, Ed and Mary Leeds; and his sister-in-law Judith Wellendorf.

He is survived by: his wife Edrie Wellendorf of Denison; his children, Brian Wellendorf (Christy) of Clive, Glenda (Scott Bielenberg) of Deloit and Kitty Caporale (Mark Slechta) of Harlan; his grandchildren, Derek Bielenberg (Emma Lodestein) of Ankeny, Lesley Bielenberg (Dominick Ludwig) of Maxwell, Tyler Wellendorf (Gabi Gaines) of Waukee, Morgan Slechta (Noe Cabrera) of Denison, Landon Slechta (Morgan Feenstra) of Sioux Center, Devyn Lawrence (Max) of Dunlap and Bailey Wellendorf of Clive; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aubree "AJ" Lawrence and Camila Cabrera; his siblings, Virginia Slechta (Ray) of Sioux Falls, Clarice Wellendorf of Davenport, Robert Wellendorf of Elk Horn and Donald Wellendorf (Marjorie) of Omaha; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Foster (Jay) of Fremont, Nebraska. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
