She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Kenkel and Antoinette Kenkel (Blum); her son Randy; her brothers, Joe Kenkel (Loretta) of Earling and George Kenkel (Bonnie) of Harlan; her husband Marvin Staley; her great grandchild Luke Benedict Patch; her stepmother Irene Kenkel (Swanson); and her siblings, Germaine, Donald Staley, Bernice, Leonard Bissen, Benedict Kenkel, Sister Kathleen Kenkel, Robert and Maxine Kenkel.

She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Jenson (Doug) of Ames; her daughter-in-law Patty Staley of Charter Oak; her granddaughter Amy Griffin (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Mason and Mallory of Ames; her granddaughter Andrea Patch (Jon); her great grandchildren, Claire, Kate, Matthew and Mary of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandson Alex Jenson (Jessica); her great grandchild Emmett of Ankeny; her grandson Craig Staley (Lindsay); her great grandchildren, Hudson and Grace of Omaha; her grandson Jim Staley (Jessica); and her great grandchildren, Ace, Ella, Mia, Charlotte and Cecilia of Charter Oak.

Any funds given to the family will be donated to organizations that were close to Elaine's heart.
