She was predeceased by: her parents, Orie McCloy and Anna McCloy (Banowetz); her husband Kenneth Gerlach; and her siblings, Kate, Mary, Robert, Gene, Jim, Joe, Laverne and Janice.
She is survived by: her sons, Paul Gerlach (Sandra) of Maquoketa, James Gerlach (Mary Lou) of Bellevue and Mark Gerlach (Carmen) of Delmar; and her siblings-in-law, Shirley McCloy of Maquoketa, Darlene Helmle of Springbrook, Carol Gerlach of Springbrook, Gene Banowetz (Kristine) of Charlotte and Ron Banowetz (Duetta) of Charlotte. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Ruth's family in her honor.
