He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Gilbert and Anne Gilbert (Nielson); his wife Dorothy Schade; his children, Jerry Gilbert (Donna) of Antioch, Michael Gilbert (Gayle), Holly Hall (Scott) of Delmar and Mark Gilbert (Brandy) of Atkins, Iowa; and his siblings, Duane "Butch" Gilbert (Patricia) of Clear Lake and Diane Carlson (Gary) of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
