He was predeceased by: his parents, Linus Hoeger and Delores Hoeger (Eike); his wife Carlyn Hoeger; his parents-in-law, Carl and Helen Trumm (Gudenkauf); his granddaughter Karli Hoeger; his nieces, Diane Clausen and Shelly Osten; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Fitzpatrick, Vernon Trumm and Carol Tibbetts.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Goldsmith (Joe) of Earlville, Gary Hoeger (Patti) of Earlville, Al Hoeger of Delhi, Sandy Mensen (Mike) of Delhi and Mike Hoeger of Manchester, Iowa; his grandchildren, Carrie Larson (Ryan), Eric Goldsmith, Nikki Goodchild (Courtney), Holly Hoeger (Jeff Chesnut), Heidi Hoeger (Jeremy Putz), Chris Hoeger, Shawnae Hoeger (Jeremy Fischer), Macy Hoeger (Camden Leonard), Olivia Hoeger, Jordan Mensen (Brie Nielson), Megan Mensen (Rob Bockenstedt), Brianna Mensen and Michael Hoeger II; his great grandchildren, Brynn, Anika, Trace Larson, Cal Goodchild, Kaela, Kylie, Lucas Chesnut, Lakelyn and Kaiser Mensen; and his siblings, Jim Hoeger and JoAnn Fitzpatrick.
