He is survived by: his significant other Janet Backhaus; his sons, Jim Dotzler of Defiance, IA and Dan Dotzler (Cindy) of Ida Grove, IA; and his grandchildren, Ciara Lindgren (Hunter), Ben Dotzler and Ellie Dotzler (Kaden Ladwig). He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other family members.
