It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Duane Roberts of Deep River, Iowa, who passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Roberts and Mary Roberts (Wade); his brother Carl Roberts; his son Brian Roberts; his grandchildren, Chad Hansen, Boston Schumacher and Alexis Schumacher; and his son-in-law Kenn MacGregor.
He is survived by: his wife Merleta (Schmidt) of Deep River; his children, Michael Roberts (Elizabeth) of Deep River, Diana Hansen (Dick) of Victor, Julie Roberts of Grinnell, Kristy Farrington of Woodland Park and Rhonda MacGregor of Denison; his friends, Melvin, Merleta and Patty Ferreira; his grandchildren, Selina McKinney (Chris), Charlie Roberts, Trace Roberts (Cassie), Lindsey Wyckoff (Joe), Sherry Hass, Erica Hansen, Tyler Puls, Travis Puls, Nicole Wallace (Nick), Nathan Herdlicka (VaLeene), Erienne Doll (Dustin), Chelsea Roberts (Dustin Jackson), Ian, Jack, Connor and Brandon MacGregor; his great grandchildren, William, Gabriel McKinney, Jadelyn Roberts, Desirae, Tillie, Emmarie, Lyndee Roberts, Thatcher, Marina Wyckoff, Sarah McNulty, Kaitlyn Hansen, Brianna Newton, Cody, Chasen Holston, Walter Puls, Owen Puls, Ezra, Dylan Herdlicka, Jayden Doll, Johnathan and Matthew Jackson; and his sister Margaret Bowers.
