He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Iver Spilde and Hilda Spilde (Bolson); his children, Craig Spilde (Jeanette) of Decorah, IA, Corinne Brase (Mark) of Fairfield, IA and Diane Smock of Bellevue, NE.; his grandchildren, Mallory Dignin (Matt Cefalu), Stephen Dignin (Shana), Aubrey Miller (Brent), Erica Spilde, Daniel Brase (Beth), Michelle Hines (Allan), Nicholas Smock (Marissa) and Amber Ryan (Zach); his great grandchildren, Madeline, Megan, Micah Brase, Hunter, Hilda Hines, Hank, Wade Ryan, Linnea, Maren Miller, Ainsley and Berringer Smock; his sisters-in-law, Roseann Hovey of Arvada, CO and Barb Spilde; his son-in-law Mike Dignin (Cheryl Skrypez) of Little Canada, MN.; his wife Kathryn Spilde; his daughters, Linda Spilde and Cheryl Dignin; his great grandchild Emma Brase; his brother Roger Spilde; his parents-in-law, Philip and Hannah Hovey (Hanson); and his siblings-in-law, Harlan Hovey (Norma), Maynard Hovey (Colleen), Philip Hovey (Rose), Ken Hovey, Wilma Barth (Galin), Phyllis Hovey and Carol Hovey.
