He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Stoen and Martina Stoen (Sollien); his wife Kathryn Bany; his children, Susan Schnitzler (Larry) of Eagan, MN, Kristine Knoke (Terry) of Nauvoo, IL, Joanne Starr (Keith) of Charles City, IA. and Erik Drewes-Stoen (Ellen) of Decorah, IA.; his grandchildren, Jacob Schnitzler (Christina), Luke Schnitzler (Kim), Sarah Seigfried (Trent), Rachel Knoke (Erin Hahl), Vicky (Lance St Laurent), Stephen Starr, Robert Starr (Laura) and Emily Garden (Brady); his daughter Virginia; and his siblings, Thelma Ellingson, Raymond and Sophus Stoen.
