She is survived by: her husband Paul Hougen of Decorah, IA; her children, David Hougen (Julie) of Ridgeway, IA, Kristi Niebuhr (Bruce) of Fairbank, IA, Jonathan Hougen of Decorah, IA, Faith Hougen, West, Luther Hougen of Denver, IA and Joy Olson (Jim) of Hudson, WI; her son-in-law Brian Ormord of Dubuque, IA.; her daughter Gloria Ormord; her granddaughter Kirsten Hougen; her great grandchild Hailey; and her siblings, Lucella Bender (Virgil), Doris Bender (Walter), Ervin Peterson (Dorothy), John Peterson (Lorraine) and Bob Peterson (Grace).
