He was predeceased by: his wife Darla Bakken; his parents, Ole Bakken and Pauline Bakken; his parents-in-law, Leon and Tinka Anderson; his brothers, Roger and Howard; his siblings-in-law, Ralph Leistikow, Arden Anderson and Sylvia Lundeen; and his grandson Alan Fadness.

He is survived by: his children, Lynn Fadness (Dave) and Gary Bakken (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Laura Gronna (Ryan), Paul Fadness, Britney Bakken (Jay Lundahl) and Courtney Bakken (Reece Samuelson); his stepgrandsons, Troy Fadness (Casie) and Travis Fadness; his great grandchildren, Maya, Hadley Gronna, Kolton, Emma Drahn and Alyla Lundahl; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Hannah and Maxwell Fadness; his sister Phyllis Leistikow; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Anne Bakken, Rosemary Mehl (Mike), Sharon Anderson, Terry Anderson (Rose) and Herb Lundeen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
