Genevieve Rude Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 22, 2020, at the age of 88, Genevieve Rude of Decorah, Iowa, born in Waukon, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marguerite Gertrude (Blake) and Henry Larson; her husband Charles Rude; her siblings, Henry, Herbert, Larry, Lowell, Ralph, Walter, Alice Miller (Keith) and Karen Ullerich; and her brothers-in-law, Bart Williams and Joe Eiken.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Rude (Marcia Ray) of Harmony, MN, Joan Smedsrud (Donn) of Waukon, IA, Sue Halverson (Mike) of Decorah, IA, Mary Swinburn (Tom) of Decorah, IA and Jeff Rude of Minneapolis, MN.; her grandchildren, Brandon Rude (Jen), Shannon Gebel (Dan), Jeremy Smedsrud (Jessie), Tim Smedsrud (Nicki), Emily Swinburn and Tommy Swinburn; her great grandchildren, Sydney, Mitch, Lydia, Alex, Andi, Rachel, Lucas, Mia, Clair, Peyton and Cole; her great great grandchild Leo; her siblings, Kenneth Larson (Sharon) of Dorchester, IA, Rose Ann Williams of Pine Island, MN, Anna Marie Danaher (Tony) of Casper, WY, Kathy Kruse (Norbert) of Dorchester, IA and Linda Eiken of Spring Grove, MN; her siblings-in-law, Joanne Larson of Waukon, IA and Al Ullerich of Guttenberg, IA; and also Dianne Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In consideration of concerns regarding Covid-19, a Private Family Celebration will be held from 4:00-6:00 p. m. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah.
