She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Gottschalk and Leona Gottschalk (Gusta); her husband Jackie Grimes (Jack); her in-laws, Jesse and Muriel Grimes; her brothers, Don and Glen Gottschalk; and her sister-in-law Deborah Gottschalk (Glen).
She is survived by: her children, Jan Grimes of Oelwein, Lynn Tiemann (Bruce), Julie Grimes of Marion and Lee Grimes (Sharon) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Ben Tiemann (Fabienne), Andrew Tiemann (Kathryn), Ryan Grimes, Meghan Grimes (Alex), Madeline Grimes and Aaron Grimes; her great grandchildren, Caitlin, Sophia, Liam and Finn Tiemann; and her sister-in-law Sara Gottschalk (Don).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (202 Washington St, Calmar, IA 52132). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Congregational United Church of Christ (209 W Broadway St, Decorah, IA 52101).
