He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Johnson and Gena Johnson (Bringsjord); his wife Shirley Ann Snitker; and his siblings, Evelyn Pierce, Helen Enyart, Frances Johnson, Thelma Pahl, Gladys Herold and Merlyn Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughter Debra Coffey (Charlie) of Decorah; his grandson Ryan Coffey (Colleen); and his great grandchildren, Cassius of Minneapolis, MN, Joseph Coffey and Matthew Coffey of Decorah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and Don was a very loving and dedicated caregiver to her for 12 years, the first four in their home and then the last eight years at Aase Haugen Home.
