It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Beverly Christen of Decorah, Iowa, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Halverson and Irene Halverson (Teslow); her brothers, Curtis and Robert Halverson; her parents-in-law, Ernest and Mildred Christen; her brothers-in-law, Jan Christen, Dean Christen, Paul Doubek and Orlin Hovey; and her niece Julie Doubek.
She is survived by: her husband Elliott Christen of Decorah; her children, Kyle (Laura) of Cedar Rapids and Jana Albers (Kevin) of Decorah; her grandchildren, Carson Christen (Katie) of Muskego and Jennifer Welton (Shannon) of Palo, IA.; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Maddux Welton of Palo; her sisters, Phyllis Doubek of Ossian, IA. and Harriet Hovey of Decorah; her nieces, Paulette Doubek of Spillville, IA., Janet Monroe of Ossian, Sandy Runkel of Shoreview, MN., Jody Kuennen of Festina, IA., Lisa Christen of Plymouth, MN. and Kari Richards of Rochester, MN.; her nephew Kevin Hovey of Decorah; and her close friend Glenda Wuest of Decorah.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (306 E Water St, Decorah, IA 52101). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran (604 W Broadway St, Decorah, IA 52101).
