He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William and Mary Etta Walker (Lula Mae Beard); and his brothers, Walker Posey and John Posey. He is survived by: his significant other Lula Mae Beard; his sons, Larry Posey (Deborah) and Ray Haynes (Michelle); his siblings, Luther Posey, Eddie Posey (Genisse) and Etta Posey Taylor; his sister-in-law Beulah Posey; and his granddaughters, Sandy LaGrange (Raymond) and Tisha Hailey (Jerry). He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
