She was predeceased by: her parents, Rollin Kirkpatrick and Violet Kirkpatrick (Peden); and her brother-in-law Jerome Rettler. She is survived by: her husband Michael J. Smith; her children, Julie Thompson (David) and Brian Smith (Kerry); her siblings, Roger Kirkpatrick (Janet) and Ardis Rettler; and her brother-in-law Lester Leonard (Carol). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Runge Mortuary and Crematory (838 E Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA 52807). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Kings Harvest Pet Rescue in Sandy's name.
