He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Showens and Bertha Showens (Pershinski); and his siblings, Evelyn, Mary, Lois, Janet, Don, Darrell and Art "Butch" Showens.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Showens; his children, Jennifer Conklin (Barrett) and Josh Showens; and his siblings, Ella Haulk and Larry Showens. He is also survived by his nieces; & nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory (838 E Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA 52807). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
