He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret Mary Mahoney (Margie); his parents, Ernest Sprague and Vinnie Sprague (Brown); his siblings, E. J., Wesley and Doyle Sprague; his son Wes David; his sister Noni Palmer (Sprague); and his children, Richard "Mike" Sprague (Donna), Linda Flatt (Steve), Tim Sprague (Rhonda) and Brad Sprague (Crystal). He was also cherished by 16 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First UMC of Geneseo.
