He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Winters (Pflum) and Richard Winters; and his stepfather John True. He is survived by: his wife Sue Winters (Erickson); his daughters, Alaina Blaum (Matthew) and Brittany Winters; his grandchildren, Emma Blaum, Zoë Blaum and Jack Blaum; and his siblings, Rodney Winters (Anna), John True III (Elizabeth), Rebecca Dirksen (Jim), Ruth True-Mullens and Ericka True.
