He was predeceased by: his parents, Jahiel DeVol and Bertha DeVol (Miller); his wife Eileen V. Marten; his daughters, Debbie Skipton and Linda Davis; his grandchildren, James DeVol and Samantha DeVol; his great grandchild Foster Atwood; and his siblings, Margaret Young, Evelyn Carver and James DeVol.
He is survived by: his grandson Michael Guldenpfennig; his children, Kathie Atwood (Herbie) of Bettendorf, Judy Bertram (Joe) of Ankeny, Gary DeVol (Theresa) of Rockford, James "Curt" DeVol (Lisa) of Davenport, Barbara Haussmann (Billy) of Davenport, Michael DeVol (Susie) of Davenport, Mark DeVol of Davenport and Glynn DeVol of Davenport; and his sister Barb Lang of Bettendorf. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home (644 River Dr, Bettendorf, IA 52722).
