Hackbarth; his sons, Jon Peterson of Earlham and Jason Peterson (Trista) of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Blaire, Benjamin and Sloane; and his brothers, Donald Peterson (Beverly) of Bloomington and Gary Peterson (Linda) of Champaign, Illinois..

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friends of Veterans Memorial Park or to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
