He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Marolf and Caroline Marolf (Grunder); his siblings, Waldo Marolf (Joann), Betty (Edmund Happel) and Arnold Marolf; and his grandson Jonathon Marolf.

He is survived by: his wife Melva Marolf (Kardel); and his children, Todd Marolf (Kelly) of Prescott, AZ, Rebecca Knudson (Dave) of Ames, IA, Dr. Mary Frost (Jason) of Davenport, IA and Anne Marolf of Davenport, IA.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
