He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mau and Velma Mau (Winters); and his sister Denise Griffin. He is survived by: his former wife Janice Johannsen; his spouse Jan Mau of Davenport, IA; his children, Jeffery Mau (Ann Marie) of Davenport, IA and Jennifer Mau of Portland, OR; his grandchildren, Avery Panganiban of Portland, OR and Hunter Mau of Davenport, IA; and his siblings, Sandy Winborn (Ed) of Davenport, IA and Ron Mau (Cheryl) of Bettendorf, IA..
