She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Raymond Samuelson and Olga Samuelson; her husband Howard Melchert; her children, Jeff (Janet) of Le Claire and Marty Chapman (Bud) of Chatham, Illinois.; and her grandchildren, Paul Melchert (Magda) of Tampa, David Melchert (Sandra) of Le Claire, Katie Kretchmar (Steve) of Vermilion, Jay Chapman (Jane) of Chatham and Illlinois. She was also cherished by 10 great-grandchildren.
