He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kai and Arline Kai (Burmeister); and his sister Cheryl Loftus (Kai). He is survived by: his niece Michelle Collins (Jeremy); his nephews, Scott Loftus (Angela) and Chris Loftus (Britta); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Trevor Collins, Evan Collins, Tyler Loftus, Hayden Loftus, Kaitlyn Collins, Claire Loftus, Zoey Loftus and Joslyn Loftus; his brother-in-law Stephen Loftus; and his friend Reggie Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
