He is survived by: his wife Mary Manning of South Carolina; his children, Michael Mathews (Jo) of England, Dawn Mackey of Des Moines and Melodi Zimmerrman of Atlanta, Georgia; and his brother Dwayne Mathews (Georgia) of Danville. He is also survived by two nieces and one nephew; several great-nieces and nephews.
