He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore A. Bauer and Lily M. Bauer (Elliott); and his brother Chet Bauer. He is survived by: his wife Eileen F. Malmend; his children, Tracy Johnson (Alan) of Cedar Rapids and Brian Bauer (Angie) of Danville; his grandchildren, Alyssa Gerst (Tanner) of Cedar Rapids, Alexis Massner (Trenton) of Mt. Pleasant, Jaden and Alivia Bauer of Danville; and his siblings, Michael Bauer (Montana) of Billings and Lucille Kramer of Colorado Springs, Colorado.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in his memory for the Danville Boosters Club.
