He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Ortner and Appolonia "Lonie" Ortner (Kleine); and his siblings, Merlin Ortner, Marion Bolan (Joe), Pauline Flanagan (Dan), Melvin Ortner, Patricia Ortner, Shirley Pithan (Keith) and Janice Mitchell (Bob).
He is survived by: his cousin Arnold Ortner; his wife Mary Ortner of Danbury, IA; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Ortner of Mapleton, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
