It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Kay Schimmer of Danbury, Iowa, born in Ravenna, Ohio, who passed away on December 11, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Kapusta and Florence Kapusta (Drugan); her parents-in-law, Clem and Mary Schimmer (Gahan); and her siblings-in-law, Rev. Robert J. Schimmer, Leo Meier and Catherine Schimmer.
She is survived by: her husband Tom Schimmer of Danbury, IA; her sons, Ryan Schimmer (Jennifer) of Aurora, CO and Joel Schimmer (Sheila) of Burlingame, CA; her grandchildren, Patrick, Molly Schimmer and Ava Schimmer; her siblings, Janice Pacenta (Thomas) of Hudson, OH, Jill Lewis (Rick) of Kent, OH, Gerald Kapusta (Marcia) of Wauchula, FL, Gregory Kapusta (Sherry) of Georgetown, KY and Jeffrey Kapusta (Kellie) of Kent, OH; and her siblings-in-law, John Schimmer of Napa, CA, Betty Meier of Sioux City, IA and Jean Karhoff (Bill) of Danbury, IA.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the governor's proclamation, masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines apply during all services.
