It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Ann Peterson of Danbury, Iowa, who passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Peterson; her parents, Herbert Shook and Freda Shook (Mathys); her parents-in-law, Axel and Della Peterson (Lyman); her granddaughter Paige Weber; her daughter-in-law Deanna Peterson; her brothers, Harold Shook, James Shook, Leo Shook and Fred Shook; her brothers-in-law, Norman Huff, Jim Peterson, Carl Peterson and Kent Cattlett; and her nephew Robbie Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Peterson (Jennifer) of Sibley, Cheryl Weber (Ron) of Danbury, Jeff Peterson (Angie Devries) of Rodney, David Peterson (Jen) of Jacksonville and Kathy Dewald (Steve) of Onawa, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tracy Peterson (Brittney), Wyatt Peterson (Jessica), Ashley McCabe (Brian), Dustin Weber (Erin), Travis Weber, Courtney Graham (Jeff), Lacy Smizer (Claire), Andrew Peterson, MacGyver Hlad, Gracie, Gunner, Gatlin Peterson, Brent Dewald (Niki), Jason Dewald (Jill), Josh Dewald (Heather), Nick Melby, Erin Cox (Zach) and Heather Bonnes (John); her great grandchildren, Lane, Harley, Ashleyn, Matt, Gavin, Trent, Owen, Lathan, Larrah, Lela, Jaidyn, Charlie, Cherilynne, Lynne, Alisha, Ryan, Michael, Jackson of Joseph, JT, Braxton, Brayden, Addison, Brielle, Lilly, Dodge, Kole, Jaxson, Addyson, Dalsten, Todd, Jasper, Pennaelopi and Julienne; her sisters, Rita Harris and Patty Huff; her siblings-in-law, Kay Shook, Sarah Shook, Ruth Cattlett, Anne Marie Bobier, Mary Peterson, Jerry Peterson and Don Peterson (Susie); and also Charlotte Bell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and numerous good friends.
Grandma Wimpy gave the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation with the Iowa Donor Network.
