He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemuel Purcell and Mary Jo Purcell (Maxwell); his brother Ed Purcell; his brother-in-law Ronald Dittmer; and his pets, Star and Blackie.
He is survived by: his wife Anita; his niece Sarah Purcell (Hugh Sheridan); his sisters-in-law, Mary Purcell, Rose Dittmer, Phillis Dittmer and Diana Dittmer; and his pet Hannah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be donated to the Iowa Veterans Home Tree Fund in memory of Bill.
