She was predeceased by: her parents, William and Myrtle DeWall (Egland); her husband Melvin L. Berkland; and her sisters, Jane Voigt and Doris Ruhnke.
She is survived by: her children, Marlin Berkland (Jo) of Plymouth, MN and Karen Hagen (Thomas) of Cylinder, IA; her grandchildren, Aaron Hagen (Kelsey) of Worthington, MN, Adam Berkland (Elise) of Durham, NC and Neko of Manhattan, NY; her great grandchildren, Helen Violet and George Stuart Berkland; and her sister Shirley Kerber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
