He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chapman and Pauline Chapman (Lane); his wife Betty Blazek; his sister Mary Nichols; and his brother-in-law Stan Nichols.

He is survived by: his sons, Rick Chapman of Creston, Iowa, Rod Chapman (Diane Kitzman) of Kearney and Dan Chapman (Marie) of Creston, Iowa; his grandchildren, Devon Cross (Josh), Alex Chapman, Mikel Curtis (Tina) and Mark Curtis; his great grandchildren, Olivia and Willow Cross; and his grandchildren, Taya, Cade, Izabelle and Avalyn Curtis.
