It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Mekus (Creston, Iowa), who passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Sandra leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Hussman (Blades) and Kenneth Hussman; and her brother Clark Hussman. She is survived by: her husband Max Mekus; her children, Lee Mekus (Charlotte) of Lawrence, KS, Joel Mekus of Prairieville, LA and Andrea Bevington (Joe) of Corning, IA; her grandchildren, Jana Mekus, Jeffrey Mekus, Zoe Mekus, Henry Bevington and Madeline Bevington; her sister Kay Hill of Pleasant Hill, IA.; and her nephew Ryan Hill.
