She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Ehley and Adeline Ehley (Stroh); her husband Arden Smutzler; and her brother-in-law Arlen Guthmiller. She is survived by: her children, Cully Smutzler (Lynn Winter) of Burnsville, David Smutzler (Kelli) of Decorah and Susan Ollendieck (Adam) of Hamlet; her siblings, Leta Guthmiller and Quintin Ehley (Mary); her granddaughters, Emma Smutzler, Alexis Benjamin (Parker), Paige Smutzler-Kelly (Brett), Tristin Ollendieck, Morgan Ollendieck and Cassidy Ollendieck-Whittle (Hunter); and her great grandchildren, Huntleigh Taylor, Lennox Taylor, Pax Benjamin, Berklee Ollendieck, Preston Whittle, Greyson Whittle and Oakland Whittle.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (920 3rd St W, Cresco, IA 52136). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
