He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Baethke and Charlotte Baethke (Schlee); his brother David Baethke of Cresco, IA; and his in-laws, Charles Nogle of Elk River, MN and Evelyn Olson of Minneapolis, MN.
He is survived by: his wife Janis (Nogle) of Elk River, MN; his daughters, Tonia and Kristi; his sons-in-law, Nicholas (Tonia) and Troy (Kristi); his granddaughter Emily; his nephew Luke Baethke; and his nieces, Katrina Zimmermann (Anderson) and Kelda Anderson.
