Evelyn R. Andresen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn R. Andresen of Cresco, Iowa, who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father James Hron; her husbands, Gerald "Jay" Courtney and Thomas Andresen; her son Danny Courtney; her siblings, Joseph, James Hron, William Hron, Helen Hron and Marie Sebastian (Don); her nephew Wayne Sebastian (Courtney); her in-laws, Frank Courtney, Marge Carlsten (Mahlon), Theresa Courtney, Stephen Courtney, Marie Broghammer (Marcy), Vincent Courtney, Elaine Drummond (Nathan) and Nick Nichols; and her sister-in-law Alice Andresen.
She is survived by: her mother Rose Hron (Pisney); her children, Timothy Courtney of Cresco, IA and Judy Thorson (Eric) of Waterloo, IA; her daughter-in-law Tammy Courtney; her grandson Cody Courtney (Danielle) of Cresco; her great grandchildren, Brinley, Kaden, Ryker and Taelyn; her grandson Cyle Courtney (Adrianne) of Cresco; her great grandchildren, Carter, Chloe and Cash; her granddaughter Cari Carman (Evan) of Cresco; her great grandchildren, Mason, Blake, Maverick and Max; her granddaughter Cheyann Rodenz (Jett) of Ridgeway; her great grandchildren, Rowen and Elowen; her granddaughter Angela Courtney (Andy Stapelkamp); her great grandchild Brecken; her granddaughter Danielle Leas (Nathan); her great grandchild Jace; her sister Wilma Makinster (Dick) of Marion, IA; her in-laws, Dolores Courtney, Louise Nichols and Louis Courtney (Patricia); and her brother-in-law Bill Andresen.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Notre Dame Catholic Church (116 3rd St E, Cresco, IA 52136). A rosary was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Evie may be given to Notre Dame Catholic Church, Howard County Community Hospice, Iowa Donor Network, or the American Cancer Society.
