It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William L. Pettit Sr. in Council Bluffs, Iowa, who passed away on November 14, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Pettit and Mary Pettit (Coyle); and his siblings, Bob (Helen) and Margaret Darnell (Bob). He is survived by: his wife Joanne Michaelis; his children, Bill Jr., Cindy Murphy (Jim) and Jim Pettit (Patty); and his grandchildren, Lyndsey Hannan (Chad), Jordan Pettit (Kaitlin), Andy Murphy, Ryan Murphy (Tricia), Eric Murphy (Nicole), Chris Pettit (Laura), Noah Pettit (Natasha), Heather Brady (Matthew) and Katie Erwin (Terry). He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews.
