He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McCoy and Edna McCoy (Hatcher); his wife Ella Mae "Bunny" McCoy; his sister Barbara Acrea; and his grandson Dane McCoy.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Bryan (Paul), Robert McCoy (Jackie) and Greg McCoy (Sara); his sisters, Betty Thomasson (Bob) and Carol Gibson; and his grandchildren, Blake McCoy, Madison McCoy, Olivia McCoy, Reece McCoy and Sawyer McCoy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
