He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennings Hopkins and Opal Hopkins; and his brother J. B. Hopkins. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Hopkins; his children, Kimberly Emond (Derrick) and Dale Hopkins (Corinna); his stepchildren, Duane Smith, Jolene Miller (Tim), Machael Durham (Steve) and Tamie Smith (Jose); and his siblings, Leone Mendoza, JoAnn Showalter and Dorotha McDaniel. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501).
